It is the first plastic model from Hasegawa for the the Ace Combat 5.

The cover looks decidated and graceful. The radar screen has retained the original flavor of Ace Combat 5. The symbol of the Ace Combat 5 is replaced by the symbols of the project ACEs and Ace Combat. Does the Ace Combat 5’s logo looked old-school?

The color scheme is for OSEA’s Ace ZIPANG which appeareded in Mission 03 of Ace Combat 5. The scheme could be used after beating Zipang in the game. The name for this model is ‘Cherry Blossom’.

As expected that the model is in purple. The photo etching is included. As usual, the ammunition is not included. No need to say much about other part as Hasegawa’s F-14 is probably the best choice for F-14 1/72 model.

The symbols for Wardog squadron and Osea Air Combat Command are included. The stencil is in low visibility. By the way, in the few available plastic models for Acecombat, all of them are for the Ace Combat 5. Furthermore, all is for the Wardog squadron. Personally, I really want something for the Razgriz squadron.

The F-14D is painted with dark blue and purple. The F-14D seems to be a perfect match for this scheme, as the wings swept, the petals drift, which looks so lively.

The 2011 China Model Expo was held in Beijing from April 30 to May 2.

As the J-20 has been revealed, many companies come up with J-20 models.

A detailed paper model for J-20. Though the shape seems inaccurate.

Can’t help buying things from Japan in spite of the radiation. I just got the Su-33 1/72 Flanker D Hoshii Miki model for iDOLM@STER Ace Combat 6 Plane shipped from Japan. It is good to see that after such a big earthquake, everything seems to be normal. It’s amazing that all shipping time is as usual, no delay at all.

Thanks to the overwhelming fans of iDOLM@STER, Hasegawa finally produced a newly tooled Su-33 1/72 model. Su-33 could seldom considered as a hot topic, as at the moment only Russian Navy uses with about 19 aircraft deployed. (BTW, it will be Chinese J-15 though). It is obvious that Hasegawa is satisfied with sales of the ‘Itaki’, the aircraft with anime, manga or games patterns painted on.

The first impression is the big box. However, compared with the Hasegawa’s Su-27, they are of the same size.

The normal schemed Su-33 will be released a few months later. At time being, only the special colored one is available.

The green one is the new Su-33. The grey one below is the Hasegawa’s Su-27. The new one is much sharper and more details have been added.

The infrared decoys dispenser pod has been improved greatly. However, the wings can not be folded.

The shape of the Su-27’s tailboom is longer. The new Su-33 come up with the shorter ones, which is more reliable.

The inaccuracy of the Su-27’s back part led to the inaccurate of the tail, which was end up too big. This time, the Su-33’s tail is precise. The elevator’s actuating cylinder is separated, which could be easily posed.

The shape of the elevator has been corrected and more details have been added.

The air intake is excellent too.

It is not quite ideal that the nose has been divided into two parts.

The nozzle has been improved too.

The flame holder is more vivid but not layered. I think the ICM’s Su-27 is better in this particular part.

The speed brake is longer.

More details have been added to the instrument panel and the canopy.

Look at the main undercarriage, it is the undercarriage that ship borne aircraft should have.

The cockpit and the tail hook.
