The 204 Hikotai attended the 2010 Tac Air Meet. Here is the color profile for this squadron’s F-15 with the special scheme for this event.

The 301 Hikotai was founded on October 16, 1973 as the first F-4EJ squadron. It was a group member of the No 7 Air Group. From 1985, they became a part of No 5 Air Group.

The squadron’s patch features a frog wearing a muffler. As they transferred to the No 5 Air Group, the stars on the muffler changed from seven to five. Another interesting thing is that the Japanese pronunciation of their symbol, which is a frog, sounds like ‘return sound’ in Japanese. It might be this reason, this squadron always come up with funny patches.
